Home to the Northern Sinfonia orchestra, The Sage Gateshead is a hugely popular centre for music, with performances to suit a wide range of tastes - pop, jazz, classical, brass bands, folk and more. This striking building was designed by internationally renowned architect Norman Foster and cost over £70m to construct. Since its opening in 2004 it has hosted a number of influential artists such as Bob Geldof, Nancy Sinatra and James Brown.
Here are just a few reasons why The Sage Gateshead is one of the most popular attractions in the region:
• Two auditoria boasting outstanding acoustics: Hall One with 1640 capacity, and Hall Two which can seat 450
• Hundreds of performance and participation events throughout the year
• Annual music festivals at the site and around the region
• Café, brasserie and four bars which can be used without a concert ticket
