South Tynedale Railway

South Tynedale Railway -  the South Tynedale Railway is a narrow gauge railway line that runs from Alston in Cumbria to Lintley in Northumberland. The line follows part of the route used to haul lead out of the North Pennines  200 years ago.

Restored and operated by the South Tynedale Railway Preservation Society, today, passenger trains operate every weekend and most school and bank holidays from Easter through to October, with the carriages pulled by steam and diesel engines.

The station has been restored in its original Victorian style and visitors can view the display of transport memorabilia at The Hub.
